Volkswagen car rental fans who may have fallen for the Volkswagen Caddy TDI when it appeared as a race car last year will have the opportunity of seeing the car again.
It is hoped that the "world's only racing van" will perform even better when this year's Volkswagen Racing Cup kicks off after posting impressive track results in the last season.
Volkswagen says that the "crowd-pleasing" van will take to the circuit again in the hands of regular driver Peter Wyhinny, after undergoing some "fine tuning in the workshops of Volkswagen Racing UK".
Last year the model delivered three podium finishes, which may have earned it a lot of car hire fans, and Mr Wyhinny hopes an even better performance will be posted this year.
"We still have a smile on our faces but our rivals are no longer looking on the racing van idea as a 'bit of a joke'," he said.
Volkswagen recently walked away with three What Car? Awards after the new Golf SE 1.4-litre, five door model, the Eos coupe convertible and the new Golf GTI all secured accolades.
