Volkswagen car rental fans may be tempted to hire a VW Touran after the vehicle secured yet another award for the German manufacturer.

The compact Touran was declared the winner of the Mini-MPV category at this year's BusinessCar Awards after impressing the publication's readers with "its mix of versatility, quality and efficiency".

According to Tristan Young, editor-in-chief of BusinessCar, the seven-seat Touran has gone to great lengths to secure a fan base by "proving itself" to corporate users.

"The combination of Volkswagen's premium reputation, great build quality and rock-solid running costs combine with the Touran's seven-seat practicality to forge a winning package," he said.

Volkswagen car rental fans can expect a lot of space and practicality in the model, whose final row seats are designed to be folded flat into the boot floor when not in use.

A new low emission VW BlueMotion model of the vehicle was recently introduced.
