Prestige manufacturer Porsche is set to unveil its new innovative hybrid 911 at this years Geneva Motor Show, it has been announced.
Porsche said that its 911 GT3 R racing car will take the company to new levels and represents a massive development in the car's long and illustrious history.
The company claimed that the main focus of the vehicle is to act as a base for the use of hybrid technology in its road-bound cars, acting as a "racing laboratory that will provide invaluable knowledge and insight".
Porsche car hire enthusiasts may be interested in the news that despite its more environmentally friendly engine performance has not been compromised.
The electric motors are designed to provide short bursts of power to the front wheels, working alongside the car's 480bhp 4.0-litre engine.
"Hybrid drive is used in this case not only for extra power, but also to save fuel. This again increases the efficiency and, accordingly, the performance of the 911 GT3 R Hybrid." Porsche added.
The 911 has been in production since 1963.
