The Aston Martin V12 Vantage offers motorists the ultimate performance and driving experience, it has been claimed.

According to the manufacturer, the high-performance sports car combines speed and agility to become the marque's "most exhilarating" vehicle.

Speaking in response to news that the company is introducing the car to the North and South American markets, Aston Martin chief executive Dr Ulrich Bez explained that the model represents the definitive driving experience.

"This is the ultimate performance interpretation of the Vantage range, combining our most agile model with our most powerful engine," he explained.

"Providing spectacular performance to ensure a dynamically thrilling drive in a highly exclusive package."

The news may be of interest to Aston Martin car hire fans who are looking for a driver-focussed model.

Powered by a 6.0-litre V12 engine, the 510bhp car is able to complete the dash to 62mph in just 4.2 seconds and has a top speed of 190mph.

In December 2007, Aston Martin revealed the V12 Vantage as part of the opening of its design studio.
