Motorists looking for something that little bit extra from their Land Rover Freelander 2 may want to take advantage of some special edition vehicles hitting the market next year.

Available from January, the Freelander 2 'White & Black' models include a 2.2-litre diesel engine, providing motorists with a fuel economy of 42.2 miles to the gallon.

Exterior colours for the premium 4x4 are Alaska White and Santorini Black, with both featuring Ebony cloth interior.

John Edwards, Land Rover UK's managing director, said: "With a price less than £20,000 and the economical yet powerful diesel engine, the Freelander 2 'White and Black' Special Editions represent exceptional value for money in the compact SUV sector.

"Couple this with the vehicle's enhanced styling and specification, the 'Special Editions' not only offer the Freelander 2's trademark ever-ready versatility, but are pleasing to the pocket and to the discerning eye."

Other features of the vehicles which are included as standard are 17-inch alloy wheels, a keyless starter button and stop/start e_technology.

Those opting for the standard Freelander 2 model have the choice from between 11 exterior colours, such as Storm Grey, Ipanema Sand and Bali Blue.
