Aston Martin car hire customers may be interested to learn that the manufacturer's latest auction generated a record-breaking £4.7 million.
The auction was held last weekend (May 22th) and attracted interest from enthusiasts from around the world - something Aston Martin claims demonstrates the strength of the British brand.
Aston Martin's director of works service and parts operations, Kingsley Riding-Felce, said that the quality of the collection of cars had helped contribute towards the success of the sale.
"The record prices achieved at this year's auction is testament to Aston Martin's illustrious heritage, the iconic status of the cars and the growing international interest in the Aston Martin brand," he added.
Highlights of the sale included a 1950 Aston Martin DB2 Team Car raced by Sir Stirling Moss which sold for £513,000 and a 1968 Aston Martin DB6 Vantage Sports Saloon which was purchased for £124,700.
Earlier this month, the Peterborough Evening Telegraph reported that classic cars could be a good form of investment.
