Land Rover experienced a solid surge in sales in the final quarter of 2009, with year-on-year figures increasing by 93 per cent.
Influential in the upturn in fortunes were the Discovery 4 and Range Rover Sport, which witnessed improvements of 115 and 116 per cent respectively from September.
Meanwhile, the manufacturer is looking to build on this success with a positive start to the new year, with vehicles including the Freelander 2 and Range Rover Sport at the forefront of this objective.
Land Rover UK managing director John Edwards said: "2009 has been a very hard year for the motor industry particularly in the premium segment.
"However, Land Rover made some tough decisions and restructured our business model to ensure that we were in a strong position to weather the storm. With our new 2010 model range launched to widespread acclaim, we are looking forward to building on our outstanding sales success in the last quarter."
Among the features of the Range Rover Sport is the inclusion of a new 5.0-litre supercharged engine, which attempts to provide motorists with superior performance to go alongside high levels of control.
