In news that may be of interest to London prestige car hire users, the Range Rover LR-V8 Supercharged has attracted praise from a reviewer who has concluded that big things can sometimes be beautiful.

Writing in the Daily Mail, motoring pundit James Martin said that the model, which boasts more than a seven per cent reduction in emission levels compared to its predecessor, is "a brilliant piece of engineering".

The writer took the model for a test drive and found himself "accelerating, cornering and braking as if [he was] in a two-seat sports car".

According to Mr Martin, the vehicle features new adaptive dampers similar to the ones found in fast Mercedes, Jaguar and BMW cars, "smoothing out the ride when you're on the straight and stiffening up when you turn".

The luxurious machine boasts a five-litre supercharged V8 petrol engine, which works with six-speed automatic transmission to deliver a top speed of 140 mph and a fuel consumption rate of 19 mpg.
