Audi's new A8 vehicle features technological innovations and performance-enhancing features which should make it a hit in the luxury car sector.

Writing for Auto Express, Luke Madden highlighted the vehicle's stylish yet understated design.

In addition, he drew attention to the car's impressive class-leading economy and carbon dioxide emissions, which, when compared to the previous model, have been lowered.

Audi has managed this with the inclusion of a 4.2-litre FSI engine and a lightweight aluminium space frame.

However, Mr Madden stated that despite the eco-friendly improvements, performance has not been diminished, as a zero to 62mph sprint can be achieved in 5.7 seconds and a top speed of 155mph can be reached.

"The new A8 is a masterpiece of technology. The ride, handling and comfort are all superb and its amazing ability to hide its size in the corners make the A8 a true all-rounder and a real contender in this hotly contested segment," he noted.

Audi car hire enthusiasts may be interested to learn that the company has been producing the flagship A8 since 1994.
