Motorists looking for practicality and luxury may want to consider opting for Land Rover car hire after the vehicle picked up an accolade at the recent Auto Express Driver Power Awards 2010.

The Land Rover Discovery 3 was voted as the most practical car available in the driver-selected awards ceremony.

Over 23,000 motorists throughout the UK gave their views on the current line-up of vehicles being sold, based on their personal experiences.

However, despite strong competition in the category it was the iconic 4x4 which triumphed.

"Here's proof when it comes to practicality, you don't need an MPV," the magazine noted.

"The Discovery 3 has more 'throw it all and go' ability than any other in the Driver Power Top 100, thanks to its vast size, seven-seater layout and split tailgate."

Among the features of the car that drivers may have been impressed with are its off-road capabilities and powerful range of turbocharged engines.
