Porsche is in line to debut its new 911 race car at the Autosport International show later this month.
Powered by a six-cylinder 'boxer' engine, which has a capacity of four litres, the Porsche 911 GT3 R has been created as the replacement for the 911 GT3 Cup S.
The vehicle will be displayed at the event at the Birmingham NEC between January 14th and 17th, where Porsche will also make some announcements regarding the 2010 British motorsport programme.
Among the many changes made to the latest model is developments to the anti-lock braking system to make it easier for drivers to familiarise themselves with the vehicle.
Meanwhile, this aim is additionally supported through a blip function being added to the electric throttle to support gearbox changes and new flared wheel arches give the car a more purposeful look and stance.
There are a number of vehicles that fit into the Porsche 911 umbrella, another of which is the 911 Carrera.
The manufacturer states: "In every respect, the design is unmistakably 911 because its form follows function. And all the while it maintains its unique appeal."
