Porsche car hire fans can look forward to revised Boxster
May 11 2010, 02:48 PM

Porsche car hire
customers could be interested to hear about the changes that have been made to the German marque's drop-top vehicle.

The car has been spied testing around the Nurburgring in Germany.

According to Autocar Magazine, development of the new model is well underway and UK motorists should be able to purchase it within the next 12 months.

Porsche claims that all the parts found on the forthcoming Boxster are different from its predecessor.

All the panels will be lighter than the ones that they replace in order to allow the model to post improved fuel efficiency and economy figures.

The motoring publication states that the forthcoming Boxster will also feature a number of downsized petrol engines.

"We are under a great deal of pressure from the EU law makers to reduce emissions, but we don't know yet how much we'll have to come down by," Hans-Jurgen Wohler, the model line director, told Autocar earlier this year.

The first-generation Boxster was introduced in 1996.
