New XJ could be a prestige car hire favourite
Mar 1 2010, 03:04 PM
Jaguar's most recent step into the prestige car market can be hailed as a success, according to one reviewer.

Writing for Auto Express, James Disdale praises the innovative advancements both in technology and design which have helped bolster the XJ's luxury appeal.

He describes the vehicle's lightweight construction, new chassis and choice of powerful engines as helping contribute towards the creation of a sporting limo.

Among the design highlights are a new front grille which is flanked by "menacing lights" and a sporty-side profile, while at the rear of the car vertically-mounted LED lights ensure the XJ stands out.

Mr Disdale writes: "The XJ is massively attractive, while the cabin leaves occupants feeling privileged and pampered. The newcomer is a world away from its stuffy and outdated predecessor, and is now ready to take on the luxury elite."

Jaguar car hire enthusiasts may wish to note that the 5.0-litre V8 model is able to achieve 62mph from standstill in 5.7 seconds and has a top speed of 155mph.

However, despite this impressive performance, the car was also commended for its ability to remain "near-silent" at cruising speeds, something which Mr Disdale notes would make it an ideal motorway car.
