The Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce luxury supercar will feature forged alloy wheels from Alcoa Wheel Products, London performance car hire aficionados may be interested to note.
Designed to reduce "unsprung weight", the alloy wheels help to cut the supercar's weight by 100kg over the standard Murcielago as well as achieve aesthetic purposes.
Featuring a five twin-spoke design in a structure that "improves strength and durability", the wheels are to be supplied following the selection of Alcoa by Automobili Lamborghini.
"The new Murcielago SV is the product of a substantial cross-car weight reduction programme and forged wheels are vital to this," explained Alcoa Europe marketing manager David Yates.
He added: "The engineering behind Alcoa's wheels enables a 20 per cent weight saving over a comparable cast aluminium wheel, benefitting handling and ride."
Described by its Italian manufacturer as "exceptionally purist", the model has a zero-62mph capability of just 3.2 seconds and can reach a top speed of 212mph.
