Frugal motorists have been told that there is no better place to put their money than in the Mini Cooper D.
Quentin Willson sampled the vehicle recently for the Daily Mirror and was impressed by not only its performance, but also how effective it was at keeping money in a driver's pocket.
By driving economically, he was able to travel 71 miles on a gallon of fuel, but if he wanted to put his foot down he had the ability to reach 121 miles per hour.
This fuel efficiency is enhanced through the inclusion of the start/stop feature, which turns the engine off when a vehicle comes to rest and also helps to keep the carbon dioxide emissions down to 104g/km.
Mr Willson additionally noted that the Mini Cooper D "really is one of the most economical, diverting and engaging small cars around".
He concluded that the vehicle is a "proper world beater" for motorists looking for a model that retains the bulk of its value and costs little to run.
Meanwhile, those wanting a quick getaway may be interested to know that the car has the ability to reach 62 miles per hour from still in 9.9 seconds.
