The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet is the ideal car to take advantage of over the fine summer months, it has been claimed.

Writing for Auto Express, Andrew English believes that the latest model from the manufacturer has benefited from the introduction of AirCap technology, which ensures motorists remain shielded from blustery conditions.

During the review of the entry level E220 CDI Cabriolet, Mr English remarks that drivers may be impressed with the power on offer from the diesel engine.

"The engine suits the 1.8-tonne cabrio perfectly. There's enough power to overtake safely and even have some driving fun - but the economy is astounding."

Mercedes-Benz car hire enthusiasts may be interested to note that the vehicle boasts fuel economy of 52.3mpg and will emit just 143g/km of CO2.

Furthermore, Mr English praises the car's handling and agility when tackling bends, which is complimented by the "well weighted and accurate" steering.

Mercedes-Benz says that the cabriolet has been designed to replicate the excitement of a drop-top vehicle alongside comfort and luxury generally found within an E-Class.
