May 11 2010, 02:46 PM
Mercedes-Benz car hire clients may be interested to learn about the tweaks that the manufacturer is adding to its drop-top SLK vehicle.

According to Car Magazine, UK motorists will be able to purchase the revised the prestige sports car next summer.

Drivers who opt for the two-seat convertible will be able to enjoy a host of visual changes, such as a Formula One-inspired bonnet featuring a larger and more prominent grille, as well as LED daytime running lights and LED rear lights.

The motoring publication states that the forthcoming SLK will also shed 100kg of weight to improve the drive quality, reduce carbon dioxide emissions and better its economy.

In addition, it is likely that Mercedes-Benz will be introducing a diesel version of the car.

Expected to be powered by a twin-turbo 2.1-litre engine, it will be the first non-petrol-powered SLK built by the manufacturer.

The current Mercedes-Benz SLK benefits from a range of four different engines, each of which offers a blend of power and performance.
