Motorists looking for performance and practicality may wish to consider the Mercedes E63 AMG estate, one reviewer has noted.

Reviewing the model for Autocar, Jim Holder was quick to point out the practical benefits that are available on the car.

Featuring class-leading load space alongside a 6.3-litre 518bhp V8 engine, the estate can be the ideal companion whatever the trip, he noted.

Mercedes-Benz car hire clients may be interested to hear that, despite its performance-focussed engine, the vehicle is also very "civilised".

"Put the gearbox and suspension in the comfort settings and cruise along and the car rides over imperfections well in all conditions," Mr Holder explained.

"All the time, though, you are only a push of the right foot away from unleashing huge performance."

Comfort is enhanced on the estate vehicle thanks to adaptive shock absorbers that continuously adjust damping levels to suit road conditions.

Furthermore, the rear air suspension helps to maintain a constant vehicle level regardless of the cargo load.
