In news that may be of interest to London Lotus car hire enthusiasts, a recent festival in Norwich attracted thousands of motorists to a Norwich race circuit where an attempt to break a record was made, it has been reported.

The Lotus Festival at Snetterton saw 430 Lotus car drivers from all over the country cram on to the circuit in an attempt to break the previous record of 313 Lotus vehicles set in 2007 at Brands Hatch, reports Evening News 24.

Various other activities took place during the two-day festival including historic car parades featuring past Formula One cars and an appearance by World Land Speed record holder Andy Green, who raced in a Lotus Elise trophy.

Joanna Hoddinott, also an Elise trophy racer, who organised the event, is quoted by the publication as saying: "There was a really eclectic mix of cars and they all looked like sparkling jewels as they were all different colours."

Vehicles in the Lotus range include the Elise, Evora, Europa, Exige and the Eleven.
