Range Rover car hire enthusiasts can now look forward to a brand new vehicle following official confirmation that a production version of the exciting LRX concept is to be built.
Land Rover said that the new model will be unveiled in 2010 and go on sale in 2011 in more than 100 countries around the world including the UK.
The svelte-looking sports utility vehicle will not only be the smallest and lightest vehicle ever built by the British marque, but also the most efficient car from Land Rover.
Land Rover design director Gerry McGovern said: "The new vehicle will be a natural extension to the Range Rover line-up, complementing the existing models and helping to define a new segment.
"It will be true to the concept and have many recognisable Range Rover design cues including the signature clamshell bonnet, the floating roof and the solid 'wheel-at-each-corner' stance."
Photographs of what was claimed by motoring magazines to be the 2010 LRX Range Rover were recently published on the internet.
