Land Rover will be introducing a two-wheel-drive variation of its forthcoming compact Range Rover vehicle.
The news, which may interest those looking for
Land Rover car hire, will help the manufacturer meet its environmental targets.
On sale in 2011, Land Rover claims that the two-wheel-drive model will emit less than 130g/km of carbon dioxide - making it the cleanest and most efficient Range Rover ever.
Phil Popham, Land Rover managing director, explained that the new vehicle would help add to the brand's global appeal.
"A two-wheel-drive option is just one way in which we are developing our vehicles' efficiency whilst adding to the Land Rover range and expanding our customer base," he confirmed.
"We will continue to make the 'world's finest all-terrain vehicles' for those customers who require four-wheel-drive but will also now offer an alternative to those that don't."
Jaguar Land Rover reported that it has enjoyed a successful start to 2010, with worldwide sales of the two British brands growing 61 per cent in April.
Land Rover sales soared by a massive 89 per cent during the time period.
