Motorists with their sights set on a diesel car but wanting something providing a little more in the way of performance compared with other models may be impressed by a vehicle from the Jaguar XF range, according to a reviewer.
Car Pages that a number of modifications have taken place with the 2010 line-up, including a choice of three petrol and two diesel engines, alongside four trim levels.
The vehicle tested was the Jaguar XF 3.0-litre Diesel S, which is a noticeable improvement on engines used in older variants of the XF fleet.
More power, an improved economy and better performance are among the benefits, with the review noting that the engine used in the vehicle being driven was "excellent".
"A planted right foot is rewarded with a nice shove in the back as the XF surges forward and it felt conspicuously quick for a diesel car", the publication noted.
Owners can expect to reach a top speed of 155 miles per hour in the XF, while it takes 5.9 seconds to accelerate from still to 62 miles per hour.
According to the manufacturer, the XF "embodies the Jaguar philosophy of creating beautiful, fast cars and defines a new driving experience".
