Jaguar car hire enthusiasts have been teased with even more enticing details about the upcoming XJ luxury saloon, this time with the British carmaker's chassis specialist Mike Cross doing the talking.
In its latest video, the engineering chief talks of the vehicle's driving dynamics, outlining how the model will make use of its new chassis to deliver comfort, agility and performance.
"With the new
Jaguar we were trying to balance response with smoothness, comfort with agility and in terms of how the car sounds, there's a power sound when you exercise the car, but it's also quiet and refined when you're cruising," he says in the video.
He goes on to add that the XJ is "quite a large car but it absolutely doesn't feel like it. It is very agile but its response is refined and comfortable. It's a great car to be driven in but even better to drive".
Making its public debut next month, the new luxury car, which will be launched with both a short and long wheelbase, will feature a twin-turbo 3.0-litre diesel and a supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine.
