There has been a large amount of interest in the upcoming Bentley Mulsanne and this is leading the manufacturer to believe that sales could pass early projections.
According to Bentley, over 1,000 private viewings of the vehicle have already taken place at its factory in Crewe, while the Mulsanne also turned heads when displayed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
Among the features of the Mulsanne is the inclusion of a new V8 engine that is not only lighter than the older unit but also offers motorists benefits in terms of carbon dioxide emissions and fuel consumption.
Stuart McCullough, a member of the board for sales and marketing at Bentley Motors, said: "Even at this very early stage, the expression of interest we've received easily exceeds our 2010 production targets.
"The Mulsanne's credentials are a pure expression of Bentley design and craftsmanship, and that's struck a chord with Bentley enthusiasts across the globe as well as many of the potential customers we have welcomed for tours in Crewe this year."
Next summer is the scheduled date for the vehicle to arrive in the UK, with buyers having a vast range of choice to ensure their Mulsanne is unique.
They will have to decide between 114 paint colours, 21 carpet colours, 24 leather hides and nine wood veneers, with it taking nine weeks for Bentley to provide the vehicle to an owner's chosen tastes.
According to Bentley, the Mulsanne "captures a unique fusion of power, elegance and sporting style".
