As the UK basks in sunny conditions that are expected to last throughout the week, London car hire fans can exploit the opportunity to sample some of the luxurious drop tops on offer from vehicle rental firms.

One model worth checking out is the Mercedes Benz SLK, which was recently made even more enticing with the launch of the exclusive SLK 2Look, of which only 150 will be made available.

In a review of the original open top model, What Car? magazine stated that it is "comfortable and refined", with its exterior looking like "a million dollars" although the "interior is less impressive".

Highlighting the attributes of the vehicle, which is ideal in the current weather, the magazine added that its folding metal roof is "a real attraction" and that most engines in the range are "strong and, because the SLK is so desirable, it holds its value well".

Other convertible performance car hire models ideal for sunny conditions include the Porsche Boxster 3.2S, Jaguar XK8 and the BMW 335Ci among others.
