The girlfriend of footballer Stephen Ireland has revealed her joy at the Bentley bought for her as a birthday gift by the Manchester City midfielder.

Jessica Lawlor was bought the £264,000 vehicle - which also came with a range of enhanced equipment - as a present to mark her 24th birthday.

These included £2,000 spent on red leather seats displaying the message 'To Jess, love from Stephen', while red alloy wheel rims cost another £5,000, with these featuring the WAG's initials.

According to the Sun, Ms Lawlor said: "It was a complete surprise and I loved it.

"He is so sweet and he'll buy me nice things and spring surprises on me. He once whisked me off to Paris and had booked us on a private plane. It was magical."

The Irish girl added that she fully appreciates her new luxury lifestyle and how lucky she is after been brought up in a working class family.

Ireland himself owns a blue and white Audi R8 to match the colours of his English Premier League team.
