Executive car hire manufacturer BMW has scooped seven awards from one of the country's leading fleet car publications.

BusinessCar magazine awarded BMW the honours, which included the coveted "Manufacturer of the Year" title and the "Environmental Award of the Year".

On top of these, the manufacturer also won more model specific accolades, including its BMW 1-Series picking up "Lower Medium Car of the Year" and the 3-Series Saloon winning "Medium Car of the Year".

BMW's class-leading 5-Series Saloon and Touring was honoured with "Executive Car of the Year", while finally the X5 was named "Large 4X4 of the Year".

Paul Barker, editor of BusinessCar, reserved special praise for the firms EfficientDynamics, which he highlighted, saved drivers money without compromising other aspects.

"The class-leading combination of incredible efficiency, badge and product desirability and great driving cars has obviously struck a chord with the readers of BusinessCar," he said.

The BMW 3-Series recently won the Compact Executive category at the What Car? Awards.
