BMW's most efficient car ever is just as impressive to drive as its statistics would suggest, one reviewer has noted.
Writing for Top Gear, Dan Read highlights the various technological innovations that the German manufacturer has utilised to ensure that the 320 EfficientDynamics is refined as well as eco-friendly.
BMW car hire clients who opt for the highly efficient vehicle will be able to achieve 69mpg and carbon dioxide emissions of just 109g/km.
Mr Read draws attention to BMW's "fantastic" Centrifugal Pendulum Vibration Absorber which ensures that fuel use is kept to a minimum.
Furthermore, regenerative brakes, stop-start, lowered suspension and aerodynamic alloys help to reduce air resistance, while the electric power steering, oil pump and aircon compressor are switched off when not needed.
"The most excellent thing about the EfficientDynamics is that it drives like a regular 3-Series. Essentially this is a lightly de-tuned 320d with 163bhp," Mr Read notes.
According to BMW, the 3-Series has been designed to project an elegant and sporty persona.
