BMW car hire customers may be keen to get behind the wheel of the manufacturer's cleanest and greenest 3-Series.
The 320d EfficientDynamics Saloon has just completed a record-breaking trip for the Sunday Times newspaper.
Covering a total of 1,013 miles on one tank of fuel, the impressive and eco-friendly vehicle delivers on its on-paper statistics.
According to BMW, the car should be able to achieve 68.9mpg on the combined cycle and emits just 109g/km of carbon dioxide.
Motoring journalist and TV presenter Tom Ford, the man who completed the trip, commended the 320d EfficientDynamics for its real-world performance.
He continued: "It's difficult to tell the difference between this model and a standard 320d in terms of driving performance, which is brilliant.
"It means that as well as the obvious financial advantages, this special 320d is a car for the environmentally conscious who still want a car that drives superbly."
BMW's EfficientDynamics technology uses features such as auto start-stop, active aerodynamics, optimum shift indicator and brake energy regeneration to achieve maximum results.
