In news that may be of interest to Chrysler car hire fans, Chrysler has announced its sponsorship of the prestigious Horse of the Year Show taking place in Birmingham in October.

The carmaker's Jeep Grand Cherokee will be the official partner of the show, in which Chrysler's other products such as the Jeep Patriot will be exhibited.

According to Chrysler, the Grand Cherokee is an all round luxury car that is just as comfortable on asphalt as it is off road, thanks to features such as Quadra Trac II, which anticipates and prevents wheel slips before they happen.

"We are delighted to be the official vehicle partner for Horse of the Year Show 2009," commented Nigel Land, marketing director of Chrysler UK.

"Jeep has a strong presence within the rural and equine community and HOYS is the ideal platform to showcase the Jeep vehicle range to the equestrian market, a perfect target audience for the brand."

In May, the company unveiled a limited edition Chrysler Grand Voyager as part of Chrysler's celebrations to mark 25 years of the model's position as the best selling MPV.
