Mercedes-Benz car hire clients will be pleased to hear that the marque's new drop-top E-Class ticks the right boxes in terms of comfort, handling and economy.
Writing for the Telegraph, Andrew English tested the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet E220 CDI - the smallest and cheapest of the three diesel offerings from the manufacturer.
However, Mr English noted that despite the engine's size, it has "more than enough poke" to ensure than driving and overtaking are simple tasks.
Motorists are able to reach 62mph from a standing start in 8.8 seconds before hitting a top speed of 144mph, while 53.3mpg can be achieved on the combined cycle.
Mr English also praised the car's ride quality, stating that "the cabrio rides very well, with accurate and subtle body control, particularly around town".
Earlier this month and immediately after its launch, the first Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet was personally handed over to a German motorist.
They took the decision to opt for the E250 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY model in palladium silver.
