BMW's newest addition to its X-Series range has been commended for its drive quality and environmental credentials.
Writing for imotormag.co.uk, Tom Philips is quick to point out that he believes the BMW X1 has accomplished the mission which the manufacturer set it, by adding "environmental and social responsibility" to the off-road range.
He explains: "The BMW X1 has been conceived to bring an acceptability to BMW's SUVs
it's been designed to be small and inoffensive, unlike proper off roaders, and environmentally [friendly], because the base model will return 54.3 mpg."

BMW car hire may wish to note the praise Mr Philips gave to the drive quality of the mini-SUV, describing the steering as having a "weighty" feel and highlighting the responsiveness of the brakes and gearbox.
Furthermore, the top-of-the-range 204bhp 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel is capable of 62mph from standstill in just 7.2 seconds and has a top speed of 127mph.
The X1 made its debut at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show.
