People indulging in London sports car rental and other motorists in the UK have been told that changing their driving methods could result in hundreds of pounds worth of fuel savings annually.
What Car? has found that up to £344 a year could be saved by drivers after subjecting eight test motorists to a special test, which involved them driving around a track before and after taking an eco-driving course.
Steve Fowler, the group editor of What Car? Said: "There are not only hefty fuel savings to be made, if our eight test readers matched their improvements on the road for a year, they'd also emit a tonne less carbon dioxide.
"If every driver in the UK did the same that would jump to a whopping 33 million tonnes the equivalent of taking nearly a quarter of all cars off the road in the same period."
A lot of choice can be found in London through car hire firms, with models such as the Mercedes M-Class,
Aston Martin DB9 Volante, Lotus Elise,
Bentley Continental GTC and Chrysler Grand Voyager available for rental.
