Martin Brundle is a fan of the Lotus Evora after getting the chance to sample the vehicle during a recent visit to the firm's UK headquarters.
The 50-year-old recently paid a visit with his son Alex and took the vehicle for a spin on the famous Lotus test track in Norfolk.
Some of the attributes of the Evora are that it can complete the sprint from still to 62 miles per hour in 4.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 162 miles per hour, but Brundle instead opted to lavish praise on its stopping and turning abilities.
He said: "I was especially keen to drive the Evora after reading so many positive magazine reports.
"On a wet track, the cornering grip and particularly the braking performance deeply impressed me. It's a quality sports car."
The performance of the Lotus Evora is enhanced by a forged aluminium wishbone suspension and Bilstein high performance gas dampers.
Brundle took part in 165 races during his Formula One career, during which time he collected nine podium finishes and 98 points.
