Supercar hire customers will soon be able to enjoy a sound system to match the luxury and performance of the car they are roaring around in.

Top-end audio manufacturer Bose has teamed up with Ferrari to develop a new in car stereo unit for the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti.

Bose had never before developed a complete automotive media system before, despite its name appearing on many dashboards.

The famous audio firm had previously provided speakers and amplifiers for car systems.

"We made the speakers and amplifiers, but the head units were made by other manufacturers," Bose Automotive Systems Division president Brandon Westley, told the Boston Globe. "Our name was put on those face plates because that was the most visible place."

He added that the fact that their name was on the devices had given the company a valuable insight into what people wanted from their in-car media systems because when they had complaints they would call Bose.
