According to the Motor Trend website, motorists will be able to benefit from the car's "enticing" drive and gorgeous-sounding engine.

"Successive revs translate into higher pitched rumbles and growling snarls from the twin-turbo six," the reviewer noted.

"Push away the same paddle and downshifts seamlessly rev-match, imparting increased engine control - and, of course, delicious tones - just before corner entry."

Motorists who opt for the manufacturer's quickest roadster will be able to enjoy its 3.0-litre 335bhp engine, which is capable of racing to 60mph in just 4.7 seconds.

Earlier this year, BMW released a special edition Z4 in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the marque's historic triumph at the Mille Miglia rally.

A number of style changes, including a blacked-out front grille, M division aero body kit and 19-inch dark chrome alloy wheels, are present on the vehicle, of which only 99 will be made.
