Visitors to the Detroit Motor Show were recently fortunate enough to witness the debut of the Bentley Mulsanne, a vehicle taking luxury to greater levels.

The highest-quality leather hides and wood veneers feature as part of the interior, with comfort enhanced through the inclusion of deeper pile carpets.

On the outside the Bentley heritage is continued through styling cues including bullseye air vents, while motorists will not be disappointed with the Mulsanne's on-the-road performance thanks to its V8 engine.

Christophe Georges, president and chief operating officer for Bentley Motors Inc, said: "The Detroit Motor Show remains an important stop for Bentley on the annual calendar of international motoring events.

"Detroit is also the motor show debut for our flagship Mulsanne and the Series 51 Continental in the Americas region – our single largest worldwide – so it is an important opportunity to reach key influencers."

He added that the early launch of the Bentley Mulsanne in 2010 is key to the company's strategy in what is anticipated to be a busy year.

According to Bentley, the three main objectives when designing the engine for the Mulsanne were to maximise torque, refinement and efficiency.
