Bentley has released the first official driving footage of its new Mulsanne luxury grand cruiser, it has been announced.

Set in Edinburgh, the three minute-long film is available to view and download on the manufacturer's website.

The footage may interest potential Bentley car hire customers who will be able to see the car in action for the first time.

Bentley's new flagship cruiser was subjected to rigorous testing ahead of its release and promises to redefine luxury for its owners.

Featuring a 6.75-litre engine, the replacement to the iconic Arnage boasts performance to match its powerful road presence.

The sprint to 62mph can be completed in 5.3 seconds, while a top speed of 184mph can be achieved, when the road conditions allow.

"Our new V8 takes nearly 30 hours to build and we never release an engine to our colleagues in the main build hall until we are literally prepared to put our name to it," said Phil Cooper, Bentley's senior production manager.
