Next year is to mark the start of Audi's plans to boost its position when it comes to greener motoring through the launch of its first hybrid model.
By 2015, Audi hopes to have expanded its offerings in the green car market from 34 models to 42, with 5.9 billion to be spent on new product development in the next three years.
Among the new creations will be the Audi Q5, which is expected to be seen in the latter half of next year ahead of sales commencing at some point in 2011.
According to the Canadian Press, Axel Strotbek, chief financial officer at Audi, said: "With our planned investments in new products and mobility concepts - for example electric propulsion - we are creating a basis for our company's future growth."
Meanwhile, it is additionally hoped that expansions to the model line of the Audi A1, A7, A8 and R8 Spyder will be announced in 2010.
Luxury is the name of the game with the present Audi A8, combining exemplary comfort with dynamic accomplishment, according to the manufacturer.
