Aston Martin to have more braking power
Jul 30 2008, 02:20 PM
Future Aston Martin owners will have even more confidence in their cars following revelations that a new high performance braking system has reduced the DB9 stopping distance by 24 per cent.

The vehicle, which is popular with luxury car hire firms and performance vehicle enthusiasts, will now come with a new Caparo high-performance brake upgrade package.

"With 470bhp from its 6-litre, V12 engine, the DB9 rewards drivers with stunning levels of performance," says Nick Mennell, technical director, Caparo AP Braking.

"Our team of 18 braking engineers have developed an aftermarket upgrade kit that delivers what they[drivers] need without adding extra weight or compromising performance while cold."

The braking system utilises technology originally developed for the Caparo T1 hypercar.

According to the manufacturers, it reduces the stopping distance while reducing fade under regular heavy braking, while increasing feel and consistency.

The company has over 80 years of experience in developing high-performance automotive braking systems.
