Few would argue that James Bond hasn't an air of 'coolness' about him but it seems his beloved Aston Martin is also up there in the hip stakes.

The car manufacturer has been named as having the coolest brand in the UK – beating off the likes of the iPhone, Apple, Bang & Olufsen and YouTube.

Luxury car brands Ferrari and Lamborghini also made it into the top 20 coolest brands.

The annual list was compiled by CoolBrands and Aston Martin's latest win marks the third year in a row it has taken the top spot.

CoolBrands council chairman Stephen Cheliotis said: "There's no doubt James Bond is one of the UK's most recognisable icons and the recent update has seen 007 come back cooler than ever before.

"With excitement surrounding the release of the new film reaching fever pitch it is clear this is really contributing to Aston Martin's cool status.

"The brand is indelibly linked with James Bond because of the past success of the films and not only how they're still hugely popular - but how the film and James Bond sums up a lot of what it means to be smooth, stylish and cool."
