The newly-improved twin-turbo V6 engine is among the more impressive features of the Jaguar XF Diesel S, according to a reviewer.
Despite generating a third more power than the 2.7-litre V6 it has replaced, the latest unit manages to improve efficiency by ten per cent, Julian Kirk remarks in a piece for Fleet News.
Meanwhile, performance-wise the vehicle is no let down, with Mr Kirk speaking fondly of the six-cylinder engine's smoothness, which helps a driver to make "serene progress" when heading to a destination.
Furthermore, the reviewer reaches the verdict that the luxury offering's all-round ability of being refined, well-equipped, comfortable and cost-effective makes it a superior vehicle to its competition, including the Audi A6 and BMW 5-Series.
Among the luxury options available as standard with the Jaguar XF Diesel S are Bond Grain leather seat facings, interior mood lighting and a seven-inch, full colour touch screen display.
Mr Kirk singled out particular praise for the role the lighting played on improving the atmosphere in the cabin, while the stitched leather on the seats and wood veneer and aluminium trim were additionally commended.
