The Porsche 911 Turbo S will "raise the bar" when it comes to sports cars, it has been claimed.

Porsche says that its new machine has been created in response to calls for more power, performance and driving dynamics, something that is demonstrated by its 530bhp, an increase of 30bhp compared to the old 911 Turbo.

Sports car hire enthusiasts may also be interested by the information that despite all the increases in power and torque, it is the most efficient sports car in its class, returning 24.8mpg on a combined cycle.

In addition, the 911 Turbo S accelerates from zero to 62 mph in a blistering 3.3 seconds and has a top speed of 196 mph.

Thanks to the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes, stopping performance is equally as impressive.

Meanwhile, the Porsche 911 has been in production since autumn 1963 and has been awarded fifth spot in the Global Automotive Elections Foundation's Car of the Century competition.
